Oldest Pecan Tree in GA for Outdoor Wednesday ~ Roots and all!

Outdoor Wednesday has been on my heart ever since I took a reprieve from "life" and wandered up to the oldest Pecan tree in GA, that just happens to take up residence here in my own little town of Braselton. Life was kinda just "going on it's merry little way", and I just said STOP, I'm getting off!
I grabbed my camera and bundled up in a warm coat, grabbed a large trash bag that would serve as my blanket on the ground for taking up shots under the tree...and I had the time of my life with Ms. Pecan for the next hour or so! :)
Enjoy her wonder here, as I did a few weeks back on a very gray but glorious day!
Happy New Year everyone!

Be sure to stop by Susan's to see all the other Outdoor wonders today! Susan, thanks for offering this venue to enjoy all that the outdoors has to offer! It truly is a great way to stop and smell the roses...or the little pecans that drop on the ground from this tree. Hugs to all~ ~CC Catherine

Now that is a serious tree. It must be even more spectacular when it has leaves on it in the fall. What color does it change to?

CC, I LOVE pecans, so I was glad to see that humongous tree - wow! Hope to see you sometime in 2010. It was a fun gathering at la Madeleine a looooong time ago! Happy New Year! Linda

Hello CC~Wow, I appreciate the great lengths you took to capture such great photos. A trash bag for a blanket can be a tad uncomfortable.
What a majestic pecan tree. Do you gather up the nuts when in season? I'd be right there with you pickin' away.
I love pecans in just about anything, including my waffles.

We had a maple tree in our backyard that held our boys play house. I cried when it had to be chopped down. I felt the loss of all those memories when my boys played for hours in that maple tree.
Living in the Northwest I've grown to love the many varieties of trees and the seasonal colors they bring.

Sweet wishes,
Sara

Great shots. That must be very old. We have peacan tree at the backyard and every autumn it carpets the backyard with its leaves. It is quite a scene even though it needs days to clean up.

Happy New year
