A friend gifted me with the adorable holiday teacup ornament you see hanging on my tree from a former holiday. Notice the baby sock hanging next to it? Well, my Granddaughter, Cate, which turned 2 weeks on New Years Day '09, wore it as part of her holiday outfit when she came over for our family dinner. When all the guests had left for the day, left behind was Cate's one sock. I couldn't help but feel that I had to get a snap of the sock hanging on the tree next to the teacup ornament. Someday Cate will get a "kick" out of learning this sock was part of her first holiday outfit! Guess who's going to ask Mommy for the sock when Cate is done with it? (smile=)
Another odd fellow that tends to stand out amongst my teacup collection in the china hutch is my Cobalt Blue stemware. How could anyone deny that Cobalt blue can upstage any of the chic opponents quite nicely... At the same time, the contrast really complements the array of teacups I've collected for near two decades in a very romantic way. The chiseled antique glass sugar and creamer set belonged to my husbands Grandmother, Fran. The set arrived at our home in September of 2008, a very welcomed addition to our home from my mother-in-love! Both my husband and I were Grandma's kids., so this is extremely special to us.
Below is a very old Plastic Angel Ornament that belonged to my Grandmother, Odessa. I found it in her belongings after she died at the age of 92. It was something nobody else had wanted. To everyone it appeared to be trash...ugly....worn out with a broken area on the top that you couldn't even secure a Christmas Ornament hanger to so it could be hung on a tree. To me, I saw something that reminded me of many a childhood Christmas at Grandma's. This ornament represented warm and fuzzy memories that take me back to her home every time my eyes fall upon it. Sometimes I place it in a safe place on the tree, but this year she proudly stood amidst my teacup collection in the china hutch. Doesn't she just shine amongst the family members in there?

Tea Time is anytime for me, even on a Wintry Night overlooking a gorgeous Lake Lanier evening! What stops us from creating our own fantasies, from taking our Tea Parties to unheard of places? This has got to be the best place for a late evening tea, don't you agree? Now this is "really" thinking "Outside the Box", eh?
Tea Time begins and ends with the people you love. Don't let the week go by without having a Cuppa with a friend or family member, even if it's during a long distance phone call!
Till our next Tea Time, ~Ciao ~CC Catherine

What a sweet, sweet ornament...I'd put it out front and center, too! The little worn spots are what make it even more special! Lovely post. :-) Susan
