An Easter Bistro Breakfast in my Guest Suite! Bon Appetite!

Welcome to Tablescape Thursday with Susan from "Between Naps On The Porch".
Today my Tablescape will begin in my garden and will end in the breakfast nook of my Guest Bedroom Suite.
These lovely tulips were purchased for Easter in 2008 and I planted them in my garden once they died.
With the cold weather that approached here in GA two days ago, I didn't want to risk losing them, so I cut them and brought them inside. They seemed the perfect flowers to add to my breakfast centerpiece for my out of town guests.
My teency 2 ft lilac bush had a couple early blooms too. I knew they'd not survive the cold, so ...snip, snip and they came inside too.
Using the colors of both my flowers that I brought indoors, I selected my larger check yellow and white napkins and the outside is a smaller vintage napkin with purple cone flowers embroidered on them. The napkin ring is made from jewelry.
For morning tea, I selected one of my Te`a Mutts. A "Te`a Mutt is where I pair two mismatched pieces. I love the cup, a recent find for $1 up north, made in the USA. The saucer a delightful green/white from Nikon. Together, they are a MATCH! ;)
A little Yellow Chick cookie and/or sandwich cutter seemed the perfect "tweet" to add to the center of the table. She wanted in on the occasion for welcoming our guests!
And of course, if one guest gets to experience a Te`a Mutt, the other guest should as well. I don't want to slight anyone now... ;) This cup is adorable, another $1 find at a vintage shop., and the saucer the same $1. Sweet Pinks and Green are a great contrast with yellows!
The little yellow sequenced chick with feathered tail is a gift from ages ago from my dear friend Kathleen Ellis, from "Kathleen Ellis Life Style Design" blog. The little sweet colorful bowl and eggs that she is nesting with are from my other dear friend, Claudie, from "Bubblin Over" blog. Aren't they a great match? Adorable, and so are my friends! ;)
The place setting is three tiered. A 10 inch white porcelain breakfast plate serves as a small charger. It has a lovely little simple design with a fine gold edge. Then I have a yellow & white checked 8 inch dish which holds the cereal bowl. The glass bowl has just the sweetest shape for their Hot Irish Porridge I love to make with steel cut oats.
This little bunny ran away from my tablescape last week, she's camera shy. It wasn't till I had posted my Tablescape and wrote about her that I'd realized she'd flown the coop. Wait, do bunnies do that? Anyhoo...she has a unique purpose for the Easter Breakfast., in the event anyone eats too much bacon...or too much anything... ;)
She will allow you to lift her side snap gently and offer you some antacids., how kind of her, isn't it?
Now for the centerpiece...I think it turned out so quaint and just the right size for an Easter Bistro Breakfast in a Guest Suite.
As always, I love incorporating family heirlooms in all my tablescapes. This small vase is the only thing I have left of my paternal grandmother, whom I never had the privilege of meeting. This little vase was used to keep celery and carrots on the table in my grandparents home. It's quite unique because they chiseled a hole in the bottom of the neck of it and used a cork to hold the water in., then right before dinner they'd remove the cork to allow the water to drain from the veggies. Isn't that unique? In order to house this fresh water ctrpce, I used a small milk bottle re-purposed with fresh water and a little Easter hair on top to cover the bottle neck, and ~ Voila, we have a delicate heirloom vase with flowers in my garden!
The Creamer & Sugar are a mismatched pair as well. The little ruffled fine white porcelain creamer was purchased up north for $1 and the adorable sugar with the tea party pewter top and spoon were a gift from my Aunt. I total-tea love this little set! ;)
A view from the top! I love the Easter Egg table cloth! I used a sheer organza green topper on it which really added to the whimsical table setting. Uh oh, I realize I see the Velveteen Rabbit from this view., he surely is upset with me. I forgot to showcase him individually. Sorry Velvie! :(
A view from a distance showing the cute bistro set!
An angle shot., if you double click on the pic, you can see the Velveteen Rabbit better., and the Roses Teapot, a gift from a friend, Janet, from PA.
And a front view!
And a reminder of how SWEET IT IS! Tulips & Lilacs, how much sweeter can it get? ;)
Happy Easter Everyone!
May the true spirit of Easter and the Resurrection of God's Son bring you and your family a true sense of peace, happiness, joy, and everlasting life!
He "IS" the Reason for the Season!
Till next week...~CC Catherine

Sweet table. What darling napkins. I, too, cut big bouquets of flowers because of frost -- better to enjoy them inside rather than them getting nipped! Love all your bunnies as well!

I love the story of your vase, it was a truly ingenius idea! Everything looks so pretty. A great excuse for bringing first blooms into the house. I often agonize over leaving them on the plant or cutting them.

Catherine,
My new favorite is now the "Te`a Mutt how perfect, and so appropriate in such a clever way! It was good of you to stop by my blog and say hello. Each time I visit here I covet the chandelier on your header. I think I must have been southern in a different lifetime as I am drawn to its beauty and gracious living. Sitting high in snow country I enjoy viewing your lovely blooming flowers, and anxiously await warmer weather. Wishing you a Happy Easter with your friends and loved ones…..~Cathy~

Hi Catherine!
Again...I truly enjoyed your lovely bistro tablescape and all the details you put into it. I enjoyed as you tell the story of each element on the table. Hmmm... I too have a few of those Te a Mutts...but I have always found them to be my "special" teacups because they have to try harder to fit in with all the other complete teacups and manage to pull it off everytime! Happy Easter to you and your family....Hugs!
