~CC's "Pinknique" & Clean Saturday! ;)

As a little girl, my Grandmother would sit at her bedroom vanity and tell me how important it is for a girl to always keep her skin clean by using cleansing cream and a very good moisturizer.
She lived till the age of 92, and had the smoothest skin from anyone I knew!
My "PINKNIQUE" Share today:
This is a "PINK" jar (empty) ;) that used to belong to her!
I keep this in a special place and I always envision her sitting
at her vanity when I come across the jar.
"Vintage Bee Logo Yardley Dry Cleansing Cream 4.5 oz. "
The little Bee on top of the jar is so adorable...
It's also very dimensional...it's raised up., I've never seen
anything like this on a modern day jar of cream...
If you like this and would like to own one, I found one on Ebay, I don't know the buyer, but you could go look for yourself! ;) "Damosel"
Please check out Miss Beverly's blog where other Pink Saturday Hostesses you'll find to visit!
Have a Blessed Weekend!
~CC Catherine

Oh now I know why your skin glows CC.
Treasures from the past. I wonder because it has a bee on the top that it contained bee's wax? I have some bee pollen from an organic farm and it was manufactured for face cream. I use every night...keep it natural I say...
So nice talking to you on the phone tonight...I'm wired for sound..and it's 1:00 am
Happy PS

I love this post, Catherine. Isn't it amazing how we find comfort and closeness to the ones we loved and lost through small, seemingly insignificant things? The jar which held your grandmother's face cream is darling - love the bee on the lid. I can totally understand why it is so meaningful to you. I can just see a sweet lady like your grandmother sitting at her vanity, smoothing the cream on her face each evening. It seems to me "vintage" southern ladies took more care with these things. My mother had the same routine you described. She always told me a lady never goes out of the house without being dressed appropriately, hair and make up done, and if at all possible, nails painted, and perfumed as well! To this day I just can't make myself go out otherwise - though I must admit the nails look pretty ragged much of the time!

Have a beautiful weekend, Catherine. I enjoyed your sweet post.

With a bee on the top, it probably contained a mixture with royal jelly, which is so great for the skin. I love the container.

Well here I am and it's 9:30... Don't worry I am going back to bed...late night last night. I read my book after we talked. I'm reading Many Splendid Suns the one that wrote The Kite Runner. It's good. I was up with Riley since he had to go to work for 9:00. I'm NEVER up in the morning and I see you have been busy???
Thanks for the warm kind comments. You really are lifting my spirits CC.
Love You

It is wonderful how one little jar can bring back such vivid memories of a loved one. The bee on the lid is such an unexpected touch! My paternal grandmother always used Yardley Lavender Soap. The smell always reminds me of her. :D Jewel

OH! CC, I have to find a jar like that! I am the Miss Bee that Claudie mentions sometimes and I love bees. I recall certain creams and perfumes that my granny used and I think of her when I see them.

Thanks for showing this!

CC, that is such a sweet story! I see my mother dabbing perfume behind each ear, and she wore a fragrance by Guerlain called Blue Hour, only it was the French word which I would need Debbie to translate. It smelled divine. I have a box I found in an antique shop and bought... it's as pretty as the bottle was. She always smelled so lovely and looked lovely as well. See what you did? Made me take a trip down my own memory lane with your sweet pink jar...

Happy PS!

XO,

Sheila :-)

Catherine,

I love hearing people talk about their Grandmothers...I always called my Grandmother "mom". She has been on my mind all day as she loved and I mean absolutely loved the color pink. I remember all too well the Pink Chantilly gift set that set upon her dresser and the fuschia pink spring jacket I bought her one Christmas because she loved the one I had...sigh.
How I miss her!!

Happy Pink Saturday.
